Some years ago, they invited Cardinal Bergoglio to a weekly activity for priests in Buenos Aires (organized by the Priestly Society of the Holy Cross). He couldn’t go, but when finding out that it was weekly, he went two weeks later, and precisely on that day there wasn’t an activity. He rang the bell. A priest with a sense of humor answered from within, and when he said that he was Bergoglio, the priest answered “Oh how interesting, and I’m Mickey Mouse…” Curious about the silence after that, he went down to open the door to see who it really was… and there was Bergoglio smiling. He told him not to worry about it and that it was his fault for not calling before to see if there was a reunion. He left and took the bus back home.
