Dimensions of Benedict XVI



In a recent interview, Archbishop Gerhard Ludwig Müller, the prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, said that he has known “few people in life with such a breadth of vision and intellectual preparation” as Pope Benedict.
“He is one of the few men to have such wide horizons: he knows the development of philosophy in Europe, starting with the Greeks and Romans, and ending with the modern philosophers,” Archbishop Müller added. “He knows, too, the history of the Church, the questions and challenges posed by the natural sciences today. I know few people with this depth of thought, which is so necessary today.
